In the Puget Sound, moss has a nine-month growing season

Cool, wet weather from fall through spring is perfect for moss and algae. Left alone, moss holds water against your shingles, lifts their edges and sends debris into your gutters every time it rains.

Drag to see what an exterior wash removes

Years of algae, lichen and grime dull a roof long before it needs replacing. A careful cleaning brings back the original color and helps the roof shed water the way it was designed to.

Quick answers

The questions homeowners ask us most. There are more on the FAQ page.

How often should I have my roof cleaned in Seattle?

Most roofs in the Seattle area benefit from a cleaning and moss treatment every one to two years. Shaded roofs under evergreens often need attention every year.
Not when it’s done correctly. We use low-pressure soft washing and hand removal on asphalt shingles instead of blasting them with high pressure, which can strip the protective granules.
